Feeling called to Bible school, but don’t know which one is right for you?
Well, a leading resource for Christian higher education, Christian Universities Online, may be able to help. It has published a ranking of the Top 50 Bible Colleges for 2016.
Emmaus Bible College of Dubuque, Iowa, was ranked at the top of the list while Columbia International University of Columbia, SC, and Lincoln Christian University of Lincoln, Illinois, were ranked second and third respectively.
Anna-Rebekah Orr, site editor, says that the goal of the ranking is to highlight schools that offer the most to students according to a broad set of criteria.
“This list features schools whose main focus is to offer degrees related to Bible or ministry, and who excel in the areas of selectivity, personal attention given to students, overall student satisfaction, and readily available financial aid,” said Orr.
The methodology behind this ranking began with schools that are members of The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), or accredited members of The Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). Theological affiliates of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) were also considered.
Public data for these schools in the following categories was then assessed based on the following 5 criteria:
1) faculty-to-student ratio
2) percent of full-time beginning undergraduates receiving grant or scholarship aid
4) overall retention rate
5) overall graduation rate.
Each category received equal weight in calculating the final ranking.
