A man was killed and five other people wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening, according to the police.
The fatal shooting happened late Friday in University Village on the Near West Side.
Two 21-year-old men were standing on a sidewalk in the 1200 block of West Grenshaw around 11:45 p.m. when someone in a van fired shots, police said. One man was shot in the chest and abdomen and the other in the arm.
Friends drove them to Stroger Hospital, where the man with the chest wound was pronounced dead, and the other was stabilized.
