God wants Oprah Winfrey to lose weight. At least that’s what the media mogul believes.
“It felt like an intervention from on high,” she said of the moment Weight Watchers reached out to her, assuming, “If they are calling me, I must need help!”
The 62-year-old opened up about how her divinely-inspired partnership with the weight loss management company has affected her life during one of her Super Soul Sessions Saturday.
Winfrey, who was joined by Kerry Washington, Amandla Stenberg, Eckhart Tolle and India.Arie, said she once used food as a stress-reliever during her 20 years on The Oprah Winfrey Show—especially highly processed junk like Spicy Cheetos and Cool Ranch Doritos.
Though she is now crediting the Most High with her latest journey toward improved health and nutrition, ironically, the high-powered entrepreneur once used Jesus as an excuse not to exercise.
Once when the media queen sprained her ankle during a hike at her ranch in Maui, she called it her “license to not workout.”
“Jesus did not want me to work out,” Winfrey reasoned, “so I put my leg up and ate and drank all the vacation,” the professing Christian said.
