2 People Killed, 6 Injured in Chicago Shootings From Tuesday Through Wednesday

Two people were killed and at least six people were wounded in shootings across Chicago from Tuesday through early Wednesday, police said.

• At 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, a 32-year-old man was shot dead in South Austin. He was outside a restaurant in the 4900 block of West Madison Street when someone approached, fired several times and fled. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 2 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was identified as Aurelio Guzman of the 2200 block of North Lavergne Avenue. An autopsy determined that he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

• At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 35-year-old woman was found fatally shot in the Stony Island Park neighborhood on the South Side. She was discovered with several gunshot wounds in an apartment in the 1700 block of East 85th Place and pronounced dead on the scene. The woman was identified as Babette Miller, of the same address where she was found dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

• At 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, a 29-year-old man was shot in the Noble Square neighborhood. He was walking from a nightclub to his car in the 1150 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when he was confronted by someone who pulled a gun and shot him. He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital.

• At 1:20 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in the wrist in the 1200 block of East 87th Street. He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition.
