Second Black Church in Indiana Hosts Gathering for HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

NAACP Fort Wayne & Allen County Branch No. 3049 collaborated with Step Up To Fitness Inc., to bring continued awareness, prevention and education on National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, March 10 hosted The Black Church & HIV: The Social Justice Imperative, Women & Girls HIV/Exposition/Forum and Dinner. 

There was a total participant of 85. Total of five new memberships were added to the NAACP No. 3049 Branch from this campaign, The Black Church & HIV: The Social Justice Imperative.

WFFT TV reported on the program.

First Lady Stephanie Terry, New Life Church of God was the keynote speaker.

Mrs. Patricia Veazy, from the Positive Resource Connection (AIDS Task Force) did a presentation on HIV and AIDS.

Tasha’s Work N’ Progress, did a special Flash Mob Line Dance, to prepare the NAACP No. 3049 upcoming National Youth HIV/AIDS Day.
