Ravens cornerback Tray Walker underwent lengthy surgery after a dirt bike accident in Miami left him critically injured Thursday night, according to published reports.
Walker’s dirt bike collided with a Ford Escape at about 7:50 pm in Northwest Miami, the Miami-Dade police said in a news release on Friday. Walker, 23, spent all night in surgery, NFL Network reported.
“He has some head injuries,” Ronald Butler, Walker’s agent, told The Baltimore Sun. “He’s fighting for his life right now. That’s really the most I can say.”
Walker was transported to Ryder Trauma Center after the accident in critical condition. Jennifer Piedra, a spokesperson for the hospital, told USA TODAY Sports there was no information on Walker’s status as of Friday morning.
“Oh my God. This is devastating news. Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight,” said Raven coach John Harbaugh in the statement.
Walker’s Honda dirt bike didn’t have lights and he was wearing dark clothing, police said. Det. Dan Ferrin of the Miami-Dade Police Department said in the news release the investigation was ongoing.
