The Passion, Fox’s live musical recounting the final hours of Jesus Christ’s life on earth against the backdrop of contemporary New Orleans, has unveiled the first photo of its ensemble cast.
The exclusive image features host and narrator Tyler Perry, Trisha Yearwood (Mary), Chris Daughtry (Judas), Jencarlos Canela (Jesus), Prince Royce (Peter), and Seal (Pontius Pilate), all in sleek, understated attire.
Based on a Dutch television special of the same name (itself inspired by a British special), The Passion combines passages from the Bible and a soundtrack of well-known pop songs. The performance will culminate with a procession of hundreds of people carrying a 120-foot illuminated cross through the streets of New Orleans.
The Passion will air Sunday, March 20, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
