Mrs. Bettye Faye Nichols was honored on February 5 during the Los Angeles District Conference of the Southern California Region of the Ninth Episcopal District of the CME Church.
A missionary for more than 34 years, Mrs. Nichols was recognized for her outstanding and dedicated service at all levels of the organization. District Presiding Elder and Pastor Willie B. E. Boyd, Jr., of Lewis Metropolitan C.M.E. Church joined District Missionary President Shirley Levingston in making the presentation.
Expressing her appreciation for the tribute, Mrs. Nichols said, “To God be the glory always to all I have touched throughout my missionary ministry.
“I am guided by my motto, ‘To serve the present age, my calling to fulfill; O may it all my powers engage, to do my Master’s will.’”
Currently, Mrs. Nichols’ is the president emeritus of the Curry Temple CME Missionary Society as well as public relations director for the Southern California Region. Her past positions include missionary president on the district, regional, and national levels; chairperson of the Annual Conference Region Presidents, and public relations director for the Ninth Episcopal District.
