GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer Donnie McClurkin whipped his fan base into a frenzy with a single social media post.
One of the most eligible Christian bachelors shared a photograph posing with his “date”—Christian singer Nicole C. Mullen.
“[At the] Stellar awards with my date Nicole C. Mullen…a wonderful night…all is right with the world!!!” wrote the 56-year-old on Instagram next to a photo—which has since been removed—of him posing with the 49-year-old GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning “My Redeemer Lives” vocalist.
EEW Magazine reached out to both camps, but neither immediately responded to a request for comment on whether they are romantically involved.
The pair looked dapper at the 31st annual Stellar Awards at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
“Beautiful couple,” one commenter on Instagram wrote, assuming that love is in the air. Moments later, someone else remarked, “Oh she married?,” questioning Mullen’s marital status.
But according to Mullen, she is divorced.
“I am no longer married…for the past couple of years :-/,” wrote the respected Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter in the comments section beneath a photograph posted on the official Instagram page of the Stellar Awards.
Though she did not officially confirm the courtship in her commentary, Mullen did say, “It was a great night and I was honored to be by the side of such a great and godly man! Much love, grace and peace y’all.”
Mullen, who just released her new single “Hey Girl!” has successfully kept her split from her second husband, David Allen Mullen, under wraps. This explains why her appearance with the nationally syndicated host of “The Donnie McClurkin Show” sparked reactions ranging from excitement and shock, to confusion.
Twice-divorced Mullen’s love life has been a troubled one.
Her first marriage to an abusive assistant children’s pastor ended after she could no longer handle the assaults from her volatile husband.
“In public he was a really nice guy. Behind closed doors, it was a different story,” said the Cincinnati, Ohio native, who recounted the details of the ill-fated union during a recorded sit-down with talk show, Divine Divas, while on a mission trip in Belize last June.
