Senior clerics in the United Kingdom attest that practicing Christians are now a minority on the island nation.

Secularization has permeated all reaches of Great Britain, say Anglican Bishop of London, Richard Chartres, and Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Cardinal Nichols.

The two top clerics insist that Bible-believing Christians in the U.K. have fallen from majority status and are being marginalized, closely resembling what happened to the Roman Catholic minority following the 16th Century English Reformation.

“[Catholics are now contributing to British life as a “significant minority,” Nichols declared, following a historic meeting at Hampton Court Palace — the former home of England’s King Henry VIII — according to The Telegraph.

As the de facto leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Cardinal Nichols says that a biblical worldview in Great Britain is now the exception, rather than the norm.

“[Traditional Christian values that Britons] used to take for granted [are now commonly looked upon with a skeptical eye],” the Nichols explained after the service that was assembled to observe the palace’s musical history, which will soon reach its 500th anniversary.

In response to Nichols’ assertion, Chartes concurred that Catholics, members of his Anglican Church and other practicing Christians in the U.K. no longer form Britain’s majority.

“We are all minorities now,” London’s Anglican leader insisted after celebrating Catholic Vespers in the palace’s Chapel Royal — an event that took place for the first time in more than 450 years, according to Breitbart.

To counter the continuing trend, the top British clerics have called for their church denominations to come together in unison and bury their longstanding disagreements. They are now striving to align each of their Churches’ missions to a “common agenda,” that seeks to counter the U.K.’s cultural trend rooted in the atheistic “religion” of secular humanism.
