Two Harford County sheriff’s deputies were shot in Abingdon Wednesday afternoon, police said. One has been transferred to Shock Trauma.
Police say the incident happened at the Panera Bread restaurant in the same shopping center as Wegmans grocery store. Officers responded to a call at the Abingdon Panera around 11:46 a.m.
One deputy went into the restaurant and encountered the suspect. The suspect fired at the deputy, hitting him. The deputy sustained injuries and the suspect ran toward the nearby Park View at Box Hill Senior Living Apartments.

The sheriff’s office confirmed the shooting on Twitter. The incident is still under investigation.
