Winter storm Jonas looks pretty ferocious from space.

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly tweeted pictures of view of the epic storm from the International Space Station on Saturday morning.

“Massive snowstorm blanketing East coast clearly visible from @Space_Station! Stay safe,” Kelly wrote.

Later he posted a picture of a thunderstorm from space. The major blizzard has coupled in areas with a rare phenomenon known as “Thundersnow.”

As the storm hit Tennessee on Friday, residents took to Twitter to report booms amid the snowy sky. On Saturday, Scott noted that he had a front row seat to the “rare #thundersnow” occurring below.
