Nick Wiltgen died on Sunday when his car smashed into a wall in the parking garage of a building he once lived in. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office is now saying he smashed into the wall on purpose.
Wiltgen, 39, was pronounced dead on the scene at Colony Square Parking Garage on Jan. 24. Initial reports from police said he crashed into the wall at a high rate of speed and classified it as an accident.
The official cause of the death released Tuesday is blunt force head trauma and the manner of death is suicide, according to the ME’s office.
According to The Weather Channel, Wiltgen was a senior digital meteorologist. He had been with the station for 15 years.
