Former Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Vince Young was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Austin early Monday morning, USA TODAY Sports confirmed.
Young’s 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped after an Austin police officer observed his SUV change lanes without a turn signal, speed and drift within lanes, according to the police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports. Young was eventually stopped in a parking lot where, according to the officer, Young showed several signs of being intoxicated, including slurred speech, glassy eyes, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, unusual laughing and swaying as he walked.
The officer wrote that Young was both “uncooperative” and “polite.”
Young was charged with a single misdemeanor DWI count and was transported to Travis County Jail. He posted a $2,000 bond and was released Monday morning.
Young was a star quarterback of the University of Texas and currently works for the Austin-based college’s diversity and community engagement program.
Young did not immediately return an email sent by USA TODAY Sports.
KTBC-TV was the first outlet to report the arrest.
