Our key Bible passage is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Our lesson today is titled “Leading Souls to Christ, Part 3”

In leading someone to Christ, you simply explain the four basic truths of the gospel which we listed briefly last week.

In seeking to win a person to Christ you must be bold, yet you must be tactful and courteous. You must turn the conversation to spiritual matters in a wise way. Next, you must find out what a person believes about the way of salvation.

One way to do this is to ask this question: “If someone were to ask you, ‘How can I become a child of God?,’ what would you say?” Most unsaved people think that a person becomes a Christian by being baptized, by joining the church, or by doing good deeds. These things are good, but they do not save anyone. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

After you have explained this, you can ask, “Would you like for me to show you from the Bible what God says about how a person is saved?” If the answer is “yes,” then you can proceed with the four steps we covered last week in leading a person to Christ.

The essential quality of a soul-winner is love for people. You cannot win souls if you do not love souls. God loves all people—all are precious in His sight. Ask God to fill your heart with His love.

Do not hesitate to witness to children. They can also be saved. In fact, it is much easier for children to trust the Lord Jesus as Saviour than it is for adults. The Lord Jesus told us this. He said, “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

How old does a child have to be to be saved? Old enough to know that he has done wrong.

How do you lead a child to Christ? Simply show him from God’s Word that he has sinned and that he needs a Saviour. Then tell him about the Saviour who died for his sins and ask him to receive Jesus into his heart.

Remember, you must explain these four steps:

1. The fact of sin — all people are sinners.

2. The penalty of sin — all people are destined to die and go to Hell because of their sins.

3. Christ paid the penalty of sin — on the cross, He suffered our punishment in our place.

4. We must receive Christ in order to be saved from sin and the penalty of sin.

If you can get this across in a loving, earnest manner, you will have done your job as a soul-winner for Christ.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Saviour, John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and I want to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you just trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, I declare to you that based upon the Word of God, you are now saved from Hell and you are on your way to Heaven. Welcome to the family of God! I want to congratulate you on doing the most important thing in life and that is receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

Until next time, May the Lord Bless You!
