Many Evangelical Christians Are Hesitant to Cast a Ballot

Researchers tell us there are approximately 94 million evangelical Christians in this country, which is more than enough to overwhelm the ballot box and sway any election. 

But an evangelical scholar says many are hesitant to engage in the political process.

“I firmly believe that Christians and churches need to speak out about cultural and moral and, yes, political issues,” insists Alex McFarland, an author, speaker and Christian apologist.

Evangelicals, he adds, should be informed about the issues and vote.

A recent Barna poll finds a majority of evangelical voters are concerned with immigration, health care and foreign policy. Many also feel strongly about religious freedom and abortion.
