LeBron James suffered right along with you.
Asked how he felt about his favorite NFL team’s 2015 season Tuesday in Dallas before his Cavaliers were to play the Mavericks, the NBA star said, “Same as every Cowboys fan.”
Presumably, that meant James was pretty bummed. The downcast expression on his face confirmed as much.
Dallas finished 4-12 one season after advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs and winning the NFC East with a 12-4 record.
In wake of the disappointment, Rowdy, the Cowboys’ mascot, tried to cheer James up. Earlier in the day, Rowdy popped up at the superstar’s Dallas area hotel room for a surprise encounter. James was a good sport about it, smiling and donning a foam hat presented to him by the Cowboys’ Chucky-looking pantomimist.
But when reminded of the meeting hours later, James didn’t seem eager to reflect on it.
“I was greeted by the Dallas Cowboys’ mascot,” he said. “That’s what happened.”
