Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight intends to transfer to Texas A&M, where he will be be immediately eligible in 2016 as a graduate transfer.
The Aggies need immediate help after Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray — who had both started in 2015 — left the program last month to transfer. Murray transferred to Oklahoma.
Knight, a dual-threat quarterback, was Oklahoma’s starter for part of the 2013 season. He led the Sooners to a win against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl that year, passing for 348 yards and earning game MVP honors, a performance that sparked talk of a Heisman candidacy. But in 2014, plagued by inconsistency and injury, he struggled along with Oklahoma’s offense.
