Emotional and unable to sleep, Donnie McClurkin turned to social media to air out his feelings about the loss of his niece and enjoy the company of supporters who could offer some comfort
It was approximately 3:00 in the morning when Pastor Donnie McClurkin turned on Periscope to engage with his followers and get his mind off his “rough day.”
Unable to sleep, he opened up about the death of his 13-year-old niece Trinity Mableton, who, according to the Grammy winner, had a seizure in her sleep and died.
“It was hard eulogizing her,” said the 55-year-old, who hosted the home-going service at Perfecting Faith Church, where he pastors in Freeport, NY.
“I came on to get that off of my mind,” said McClurkin, who is in the middle of the “Festival of Praise” Tour, scheduled to make a stop in Rochester, NY Saturday.
“Our family’s gone through a whole lot,” said McClurkin, who is grieving the fourth loss of a family member in a four-year span.
“We’re going to make it, of course, but it just hurts kind of badly,” said McClurkin.
