France Officially Recognizes 3rd Gender


A French court on Wednesday officially recognized a third gender for a person born with both male and female genitalia. The plaintiff involved in the case, called a male since birth, is now permitted to use the term “neutral gender” on official documents. The case is subject to appeal but many other countries, including Germany, Australia, and Nepal, allow for this designation on documents.
