Bishop T.D. Jakes, senior pastor of The Potter’s House and creator of MegaFest, will honor the Dallas Police Department and Chief David Brown during Sunday morning’s service.
In a news release, Jakes said the 2015 MegaFest, which was attended by an estimated 91,000 people, was event-free thanks to the work done by the police department during and before the event.
Jakes, along with Sean Smith, chief executive of security at The Potter’s House, will present Brown with a plague acknowledging that under his leadership, there were no safety or security incidents during MegaFest.
Brown is also a member of the MegaFest host committee.
The presentation will take place during the 9 a.m. service on Oct. 4.
