Azealia Banks is under fire for a since-deleted tweet calling gay men the “gay white KKK.”
“LGBT community (GGGG) are like the gay white KKK’s,” Banks wrote in the since-deleted tweet. “Get them some pink hoods and unicorns and let them rally down rodeo drive.”
Banks tweeted the inflammatory comment in response to a video that surfaced last week of the rapper calling a male flight attendant a gay slur.
In a series of tweets, Banks blasted gay members of the LGBT community (hence her turning “LGBT” into “GGGG” in her tweet) for turning on her after she used the slur.
All I had to do was say one word and I moved a whole community. What weaklings!!! 😂

If I am to be a part of an LGBT community I want to be in it with people who aren’t so weak or so easily moved ya know.

You boys gotta toughen up!!! Don’t be so weak !!! If one word can put your entire community in distress you’re DOOMED. LOL — AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 28, 2015
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsBanks has used the phrase “GGGG” before to criticize what she sees as the prioritization of gay men in of LGBT culture.
Gay male misogyny has driven me to my breaking point. I no longer want to be associated with anything LGBT.

“Because it’s not really LGBT. It’s (expletive) GGGG and I’m sick of gay white men having control of the LGBT conversation,” she wrote in a tweet last week.
The rapper has a rocky history with the mainstream LGBT community; she’s been praised for criticizing white gay men for appropriating black culture and marginalizing minorities, while coming under fire for her use of homophobic slurs. In one high-profile incident in 2013, Banks leveled a slur at Perez Hilton, who then accused Banks of being homophobic.
