Over the weekend, it was reported that Richard Sherman allegedly took a self-titled Black Lives Matter activist to task after said activist posted a picture of Sherman and Marshawn Lynch on his website. In a press conference on Wednesday, Sherman took time to address the post, which he did not write, but also to talk about the Black Lives Matter movement, which ultimately fishtailed into the Seahawks defensive back railing against black on black violence.
“I think as long as we have black-on-black crime and, you know, one black man killing another … if black lives matter, then it should matter all the time. You should never let somebody get killed — that’s somebody’s son, that’s somebody’s brother, that’s somebody’s friend. So you should always keep that in mind.”
His comments were met with plenty of praise, including some from his teammate, Doug Baldwin.
