On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles released Tim Tebow from their 53-man roster. That afternoon, the quarterback posted a message on Twitter thanking the team for the opportunity.
Over the course of preseason, Tebow seemed to have produced just enough to earn a spot on the final roster, including an impressive two touchdowns in the team’s last preseason game. On Friday, his spot on the final roster was seemingly safe after the team traded quarterback Matt Barkley to the Cardinals. But the team still opted to release Tebow, a move first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
