Whoopi Goldberg has been one of Bill Cosby‘s biggest supporters in spite of dozens of women coming forward last year claiming the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted them.
On today’s episode of The View, Goldberg changed her stance on Cosby.
Legal analyst Dan Abrams was invited as a guest on the show to break down the legal side of rape cases.
Goldberg had an “ahh ha moment” after Abrams explained that there is a statute of limitation surrounding rape cases and that Cosby could no longer be put on trial for the claims that dozens of women have come forward with.
“I always thought that rape cases were open-ended,” said Goldberg, adding that it is a shock to her to hear otherwise. “You’re saying that all that is left to these women is the court of public opinion.”
She then went on to say there is a strong likelihood that Cosby is guilty.
