Who knew a baker would be such a controversy maker?
We chatted with Cameron Bure over the phone on Friday about this very HOT Topic that had everyone talking.
I thought (the topic) was important because I will always stand up for religious freedom. And whether or not I agree about the details of what that is, or if I would or wouldn’t make the same choices that someone on either side of the party would be making, that’s aside from the point…Unfortunately people read into even more of what they want to hear or what conclusions they come to.
And those who did jump to certain notions might be surprised to learn that Cameron Bure told TheBlaze’s Church Boys that she actually would’ve baked the cake for the same-sex couple. And she told us that people shouldn’t be so quick to judge.
Whatever the right side thinks or the left side thinks of me, I think none of them would actually have it right because you don’t know me personally… It’s very easy to slap a label on someone. It’s very easy to assume that you know everything or all the stories behind someone’s heart, and their thoughts and opinions, and it’s just so much more than that.
We hear you, girl! And you can definitely look forward to more opinionated Hot Topic conversations if Cameron Bure continues to guest host.
I actually love having discussions with people that have different view points than me… My very best friend – who’s been my best friend for more than twenty years – we have very different points of view. She’s liberal, she’s Buddhist, and yet we are best friends. It’s important to me to have friendships that are like-minded, but man, what a boring life (it would be) if we didn’t have friendships with people that have different opinions.
