Panthers quarterback Cam Newton spent part of his Monday in Charleston meeting with the family of one of the victims in last week’s shooting.
In pictures uploaded to Twitter and Instagram, Newton is shown Monday afternoon meeting Chris Singleton, a Charleston Southern baseball player whose mother, Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, was among nine shot and killed last week at Emanuel AME Church.
Rashard Alston, a linebacker for Newberry College, posted a picture on Twitter of himself and Newton with Singleton on Monday. Singleton also posted a picture on Instagram.
“Thank you @cameron1newton for coming out to my house and hanging with me and my family. #CharlestonStrong,” Singleton wrote.
