Police have confirmed that former MLB player Darryl Quinn Hamilton was killed in an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend.
Hamilton, 50, and his 44-year-old girlfriend Monica Jordan were found dead Sunday afternoon in their Pearland home in the 11500 block of Island Breeze.
Based on the initial investigation, police said it appeared Hamilton was the victim of several gunshots and that Jordan had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police still have a lot of questions about what led up to the incident, while many friends and neighbors are shocked.
A friend of Jordan, who lives nearby, was visibly upset, and she said she had been trying to get in touch with Jordan Sunday night after she heard what happened.
She said she normally gets a response back but became concerned when she got no reply.
Police arrived after getting a call just before 5 p.m. Sunday from someone outside the home who told them there was an argument happening inside.
When officers got there minutes later, they found the two bodies.
Police said they recovered a gun they believe was used in the incident.
