Local media is reporting that multiple people have been fatally shot at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Police are responding to the scene.
It’s not clear exactly how many have been shot, but some local outlets are reporting as many as eight people. Law enforcement has not confirmed whether anyone has been killed.
According to the address handed out by police, the shooting took place at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Police are still searching for the gunman. In a tweet, officials said the suspected shooter is a clean-shaven white male about 21 years of age. He is reportedly wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans, and Timberland boots.
