Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina took aim Monday against the two best-funded White House contenders: Democrat Hillary Clinton and fellow Republican Jeb Bush.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Fiorina described Clinton’s announcement speech over the weekend as “deeply hypocritical.” The GOP businesswoman said Clinton’s policies will hurt the middle class she pledges to protect and that her fundraising will only increase the problems of money in politics.
“If you’re a liberal Democrat, she did fine,” said Fiorina, the only woman in the Republican field. “Obviously, this is a speech, a long litany of left-wing causes.”
As for Bush, who formally announces his presidential candidacy Monday in Miami, Fiorina said Republican voters will have to decide whether the former Florida governor is conservative enough for the nomination.
“I disagree with him on a number of issues,” Fiorina said of Bush. “I think Common Core, however it started, has turned into a giant bureaucratic program emanating from the Department of Education. I disagree with him on immigration, as do many others in the party. But the voters are going to have to decide.”
