A man is in critical condition after being shot at his residence in south Houston early Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.
The shooting happened at at 2:55 a.m in the 6700 block of London Street near Yellowstone Boulevard.
HPD officials said around 2 a.m. the man heard gun shots outside of his home and went to check what was going on. He did not see anything and went back inside his home, but then he heard more shots and went back outside and was shot while standing in his driveway, according to the HPD.
HPD said the suspect was walking down the street when he fired the shot. The man shot was transported in serious condition about four miles away to Ben Taup Hospital for surgery, according to HPD.
There is no knowledge yet if the shooting is related to a different shooting near the same time about one mile away at the 5900 block of Grace Lane, where a 61-year-old man was found fatally shot at 2:14 a.m. in a group home, according to the HPD.
HPD said there is a suspect in the Grace shooting but none in the London shooting and no witnesses in either. HPD would like the public’s help in finding details or leads.
