An FBI agent and Boston Police Department officer early Tuesday fatally shot a man who had been part of a terror investigation.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was allegedly wielding a military-style knife in a busy parking lot on the city’s southwest side and refused repeated demands to drop the weapon when the agent and officer opened fire, Boston police spokesman Officer Stephen McNulty said.
McNulty said the suspect was a “person of interest” in an investigation headed by the FBI’s local Joint Terrorism Task Force.
McNulty said that Boston police officials acknowledged that the “FBI was on him.”
The officer described the inquiry as “active and ongoing.”
