Christine Huh, the 23-year-old Somerset County woman killed Sunday in an apparent murder, was a devoted daughter and member of her church congregation, according to a pastor at Praise Presbyterian Church in Franklin Township.
“Our whole congregation is devastated,” said pastor Daeho Kim Tuesday. “She had a wonderful sense of humor and was great supporter of the church and her family.”
Huh is the daughter of Bong Kee Huh, Praise Presbyterian’s senior pastor, Kim said. Christine Huh attended Rutgers University, graduating in 2014, he added.
County officials have yet to release additional details of the circumstances surrounding Huh’s death. According to a Sunday news release, emergency officials discovered Huh stabbed inside a ninth-floor apartment at the Skyline Tower in downtown New Brunswick in the early hours of May 10.
Investigators have determined that Huh, who lived in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, had been visiting a friend at the apartment complex when she was attacked.
After arriving at the scene, emergency officials taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where she was pronounced dead at 3:50 a.m.
Hours later, police investigators arrested a 16-year-old Bridgewater teen in connection with Huh’s death after he was spotted in the township.
The suspect has been charged with juvenile delinquency in connection with murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, officials said Sunday.
