Four people died Friday when a small plane crashed on Interstate 285 suburban Atlanta.
The plane went down at around 10 a.m. ET near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The Piper PA-32 aircraft departed Runway 3Right at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport then crashed about a mile away, said spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen of the Federal Aviation Administration.
The victims’ identities were not immediately available, said Capt. Eric Jackson of the DeKalb County Fire Department. All lanes in both directions of I-285 are blocked at the scene.
