The theme for Monday’s Dancing With the Stars was Spring Break, and the eight remaining stars got crazy and kitschy.
There were also team dances.
Patti LaBelle, when she wasn’t dancing, was grilling hot dogs in the Sky Box.
And one celeb was sent packing. Would it be Bachelor Chris Soules? Or maybe Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec? Both have been at the bottom of the pack.
Here’s how the stars stacked up with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli on Week 6 as their individual dance scores were combined with team dance scores.
Riker Lynch and Allison Holker didn’t get the music for their dance until Thursday of this week. They were stressing. But you wouldn’t know it watching their samba. They OWNED the ballroom. “I’m totally fangirling out!” said Carrie Ann. (And we totally agreed with her.) Bruno said Riker is “the future of dance.” Scores: 10, 8, 9, 10 = 37 + 39 = 76
Willow Shields hurt her ribs during paso doble week, and they were still hurting, so she went to get an X-ray. The doctor said she has an extra rib. Huh?Maybe it helped her sassy salsa to Tequila with Mark Ballas. Scores: 9, 8, 8, 9 = 34 + 39 = 73
Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough danced a fierce tango to Summer by Calvin Harris. Nastia was feeling some pain from Derek’s intense choreography demands. As always, they were amazing – a vision in white, zooming around the floor with the fog swirling. Julianne was booed for criticizing their lack of a connection. Len said it should have been “low and slow.” This was clearly the week the judges felt they needed to take these two down a notch even though it made no sense at all. Their scores were still decent. Scores: 9, 8, 8, 9 = 34 + 39 = 73
Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy did a jazz dance to Bootylicious. Rumer worked it. Mom Demi, sporting her now trademark big black glasses, laughed and cheered her on. Julianne was “underwhelmed” – and got booed for saying it. Bruno loved it, calling it “raunch-a-licious.” Tsked, tsked Len: “It’s a ballroom, not a bedroom.” Scores: 8, 8, 7, 9 = 32 + 39 = 71
Chris Soules and Witney Carson upped their game this week dancing a sweeping Viennese Waltz that wowed the judges. “You wooed us all,” Said Carrie Ann. But Len said the technique was lacking. Julianne was “blown away.” Scores: 8, 7, 8, 8 = 31 + 39 = 70
