Tina Campbell of Mary Mary, 40, may not have a big team to promote her debut solo album, but she just got a boost from a big name celebrity.
What she calls her “staff of me, my hubby, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost,” is now joined by 22-time GRAMMY® award winner, Stevie Wonder, 64.
Crediting the Lord with the collaboration, Campbell wrote on Twitter, “GOD decides to surprise me w/ the gift of Stevie Wonder singing a duet with me TONIGHT for my 1st record!”
She added, “Aint [sic] God alright?!?”
The impromptu pairing with the “My Cherie Amour” singer comes just in time for Campbell’s promotional kickoff tour in support of her album It’s Personal and her book, I Need A Day To Pray. Both are set for a May release.
Hardly able to contain her excitement, Campbell sent out another tweet expressing awe over the opportunity. “Yall Stevie thee [sic] legendary wonder is in this studio singing a song that I wrote for my own album!!!!!” she said, adding the hashtags, “#speechless,” “#favor,” and “#aintthelordalright.”
