A gunman shot a security guard outside the U.S. Census Bureau in Suitland Md. Thursday, then fled into Washington D.C. where he was captured by police.
Prince George’s County fire spokesman Mark Brady tweeted that the victim was shot in the upper body.
Brady later confirmed to The Associated Press that the victim was a guard and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but did not give any information about the shooter.
The Washington Post reported all entrances to the area had been shut down as roughly two dozen armed officers with rifles entered the facility and swept the facility.
The suspect later fled the Census Bureau and crossed into Washington D.C., where he was caught by D.C. Metro P.D, a federal law enforcement source told Fox News.
