Why Gospel Artist Jessica Reedy Is Worth $3 Million

Jessica Reedy

Gospel artist and songwriter Jessica Reedy is not a person who ever needs much introduction. Fans of her work and even those who listen to her genre will recognize some of her better known works including singles like “Put It On The Altar,” “Something Out Of Nothing” and “Better.”

Apart from her music work, Reedy, 26, is also known for making regular appearances on BET. She has managed to garner a strong following with her works — so much that she is now estimated to be worth about $3 million.

Reedy first stepped into the spotlight when she became the first runner-up on the second season of BET’s gospel singing competition, “Sunday Best” in 2009.

Two years later, Reedy went ahead and released her first album, From The Heart. It brought her almost instant fame as it debuted at the top of the Billboard Gospel Album chart, as well as the Christian & Gospel iTunes chart. Critics loved it, calling it “mature and thoughtful.”

Her second album, entitled Light Records Unplugged, was released in 2013. Next came last year’s Transparent, which managed to debut at #5 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart.

Although today, Reedy sits among some of the best gospel singers in the industry, she hasn’t always had it quiet easy. At the beginning of her career, she says, she was naïve in thinking that because everyone was a Christian she would be among peers who would be “the nicest people you would ever meet.”
