We don’t have to look far to see that many people in the world are dealing with a variety of problems and are in need of solutions. No matter what problem you are facing — whether it is emotional, psychological or spiritual — Jesus Christ holds the solution that you need. As we walk together in this podcast, we will address a number of topics that exist in the world and present solutions from the Bible that will help you heal and live life more abundantly. Our aim in this podcast is: (1) to introduce you to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the ultimate source of all healing; (2) to provide you with information that will help you to understand the problem; and (3) to help you by providing solutions to your problems.

Our passage from the Word of God today is Proverbs 6:32. It reads, “But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.”

Our quote for today is from C.S. Lewis. He said, “The monstrosity of sexual intercourse outside marriage is that those who indulge in it are trying to isolate one kind of union (the sexual) from all the other kinds of union which were intended to go along with it and make up the total union.”

Our problem today is “The Problem of Adultery in Your Life” (part 3) from the book, “The Guide to Biblical Counseling” by Dr. Tim Clinton and Dr. Ron Hawkins.

Janis Abrahams Spring said, “By the most conservative estimate…in the United States, 1 in every 2.7 couples — some 20 million — is touched by infidelity. That number equals almost 4 out of 10 husbands and 2 ou of 10 wives.”

We will now share some Wise Counsel.

Healing is possible after infidelity. Increasing numbers of couples are braving the path of forgiveness and the restoration of their marriages. To begin the healing process, both spouses will need to:

– understand what caused the infidelity in the marriage. This will require a long, thoughtful look at the marital pattern that has developed, as well as what each person has contributed to the marital breakdown. Difficult though it is, each spouse should focus on his or her own issues as opposed to criticizing and blaming the other person for the problem of infidelity.

– rebuild trust in each other by telling each other the truth and by being accountable to each other. It is vital for each person to keep his or her word. If one spouse promises to do something, he or she needs to follow through and do it. Finally, trust can be rebuilt by using gestures of affection and nonsexual touch to express caring and affirmation.
