Former NFL star Darren Sharper has reached a plea agreement that could resolve all nine rape charges against him in four states, including three for rapes he allegedly committed on two straight days in two different states in January 2014.

The terms of the plea deal were not disclosed but are expected to be revealed Monday in court in Los Angeles.

After being jailed without bail in Los Angeles since Feb. 27, 2014, Sharper could be facing a lengthy prison term.

He had faced life in prison if convicted in New Orleans, where he was accused of raping three women in August and September 2013. He also faced more than 30 years in prison if convicted in Los Angeles, where he was accused of drugging and raping two women in separate incidents in October 2013 and January 2014. In addition to the rape and drug charges, he faced federal drug charges in New Orleans that also were resolved in a settlement announced Friday.

“This plea constitutes a complete vindication of these victims as well as their truthfulness,” Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said in a statement Friday.

Cannizzaro said he expects that Sharper will begin entering “formal guilty pleas as soon as Monday and that he will be in Louisiana within the next 30 days to plead guilty to his pending state and federal charges in New Orleans.”

In Arizona, Sharper, 39, was charged with drugging three women and raping two of them in November 2013.

Earlier this week, Sharper also was charged in Nevada for two alleged rapes in Las Vegas on Jan. 16, 2014 — an incident that came a day after he allegedly raped a woman in Los Angeles.

The cases followed a similar pattern, according to court records. In many of the cases, authorities said he raped the women after they were knocked unconscious by drinks he gave them spiked with drugs.

In the Las Vegas case, for example, Sharper allegedly met two women and a man at a Las Vegas nightclub and provided them all with drinks, according to a declaration by Los Angeles police detective obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

“All three individuals reported to have blacked out,” said the police declaration, which is based off of the Las Vegas police report.

The declaration includes the following details from the night of Jan. 15, 2014, leading into the early morning of Jan. 16, 2014:

One woman identified as “Jane Doe B” woke up alongside Sharper in his bed, then got up to use the restroom.

“While in the restroom, she observed herself to have visible injuries to her face which she could not account for,” the report states.

After returning to bed and falling back asleep, she woke up again and received another “unknown beverage” that Sharper said would help her feel better.

“The next thing she remembered was defendant Sharper sexually assaulting her,” the report says.
