Welcome to The Theology on Homosexuality podcast and the Torch Leadership Foundation Institute’s Inaugural Edition of the “Hill, Lutzer, McKissic Lecture Series.” This Lecture Series is in honor of E.V. Hill, Erwin Lutzer, and Dwight McKissic for standing for God, truth and righteousness down through the years without compromise. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International. This podcast was created primarily to inform the Christian church about why it must stand against homosexuality, homosexual marriage, homosexual parenting, and the homosexual agenda. The biblical portrait of marriage, family and sexuality has sadly come under attack in our society and it is time for the church to stand up and to educate our culture about the dangers of same-sex marriage and the same-sex agenda while at the same time to promote God’s idea of marriage between one man and one woman, God’s view of the family structure, and God’s view of sexuality as being permissible and pleasurable within the safety and sanctity of marriage. The normalization of homosexuality and everything that pertains to it is probably the greatest danger facing our world today. Thus, it is imperative that the body of Christ choose to stop ignoring this prevailing issue and stand up for what God says on this matter before it completely destroys our country. This broadcast/podcast is designed to equip pastors, church leaders, and Christians everywhere to take a firm stand for God against homosexuality and the homosexual agenda, in the spirit of love, grace and truth, so that we will not be responsible for allowing this nation to implode on our watch.

Our Theology on Homosexuality passage from the Word of God today is Leviticus 18:22. It reads, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Allow me to share with you some important points regarding this passage from the “David Guzik Commentary on the Bible”:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman: Simply put, God calls homosexual sex an abomination. Additionally, homosexuality was part of the idolatrous perversions which were allowed in Israel at its times of backsliding. Homosexual practice truly is an abomination in our present culture. 43% of homosexuals say that they have had 500 or more sexual partners in their lifetime. Only 1% of homosexuals say they have had four or less sexual partners in their lifetime. Homosexuals seem to specialize in anonymous sex with no emotional commitment. At one time, London AIDS clinics defined a woman as promiscuous if she’d had more than six partners in her lifetime. They gave up trying to apply a workable definition to male homosexuals when it became clear that they saw almost no homosexual men who had less than six sexual partners a year.

It is an abomination: This command is commonly objected to on the grounds that one was born – or created – with homosexual desires. “I was born this way; God made me a homosexual. It is my nature to be homosexual; it would be against my nature to be heterosexual.” The problem is that the Bible says we are all sinners by nature; not a single person is born without an attraction to sin in some way or another. We should not say that God made the homosexual; we could say that Adam did, when he passed on the effects of his rebellion to the entire human race. Our inborn attraction to sin justifies nothing. The one who practices homosexuality can no more justify himself by saying “I was born this way” than can the person who hates homosexuals justify their ungodly hatred by saying “I was born this way.” Many justify homosexual practice on the basis of love. They might say, “How can it be wrong to love someone of my own sex? How can love be wrong?” Yet if someone loves their children, it does not justify sexual conduct with them. The issue isn’t love; the issue is of sexual conduct. Of course, the Bible in no way condemns love between people of the same sex, but it does say that sexual conduct between those people is sin.

Our Theology on Homosexuality quotes for today are from E.V. Hill: Hill could verbally flay liberals with a passion honed by years in the pulpit. At a 1994 Promise Keepers rally in Orange County, he spoke negatively about the teaching of evolution, the abortion “epidemic” and the “satanic” American Civil Liberties Union. He also denounced homosexuality.

“Number one, I want everybody who is listening to me across the country to agree with the Scripture that says, “You are lost without Christ.” For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Until you see yourself lost, you will not seek a Savior. If you feel that you are alright, you will not seek a Savior. But, if you feel you’re alright, and you feel you don’t need a Savior…it’s because you have rebuked and you have turned down what the Scripture says. And so, I want you to see yourself lost. I want you to see that in you and in nothing that you’re dealing with…materialism or what have you…occultism or intellectualism…can save you. Because you’re still lost. And I want you to see how simple God made it for you to be saved. He sent a substitute…that completely pleased Him. I don’t care who you are or where you are, you cannot say, “I have and can completely please God.” You can’t say that. There is not a moment in your life that you remember now…if not even now, that you cannot say, “I can completely please God.” But if you can’t completely please God…and nobody will go before God unless they are completely pleasing to God…how are you going to get saved? You’re going to get saved by accepting the only One He has put in as our substitute and that’s Jesus. Well, how do you accept Him? As we’re talking now say, “Lord Jesus, I admit I’m a sinner. I admit that I have displeased You and come short. I now fully conscientiously, knowingly and willingly accept Your Substitute which You said is pleasing to You. And as many as believed on Him shall not perish. And I accept it right now. And I accept as proof that I’m saved Your Word, that said, ‘As many as received Him, to them will He give power to become Sons of God.’ That’s my proof. Because You cannot lie. In Jesus Name, I pray that You will come into my heart, Lord. And I thank You, Father, for Your Gift.””

Dwight McKissic said, “Discussions, deliberations and decisions, regarding the legality and morality of same-sex marriage—have wound their way through courts of justice, halls of Congress, city councils and county governments, local school districts, voting booths and the office of the President of the United States. These discussions have been a part of American families’ table talks for many, many years, because many American families are impacted personally by an immediate or extended family member who is engaged in a same-sex relationship, or contemplating and evaluating their sexual identity….Not only are these discussions, deliberations and decisions taking place in the secular realms of society—they have also landed on the doorsteps of America’s churches and denominations, Christian colleges and universities. Needless to say, these are serious and often uncomfortable conversations for the Christian community to hold and process. Nevertheless, the changing culture in our society has made these discussions, deliberations and decisions absolutely necessary.”

Our Theology on Homosexuality topic is titled “The Church Must Speak” part 1 from “The Truth About Same-Sex Marriage: 6 Things You Need to Know About What’s Really at Stake” by Erwin Lutzer. And, I want to remind you to take advantage of our special offer. If you enjoy this podcast, please feel free to purchase a copy of this book — “The Truth About Same-Sex Marriage: 6 Things You Need to Know About What’s Really at Stake.” It is available on our website, TorchLeadershipFoundation.com, for just $20.

Dr. Erwin Lutzer goes on to say:

Gene Edward Veith said, “As marriage becomes unnecessary the whole nation will be living in sin.”

“What difference does it make to me?” one man asked when interviewed about same-sex marriages. “It won’t affect the way I love my wife and kids.”

Is it true that same-sex marriages can take place in one part of our society and not affect “the rest of us”? Is this just one more of those issues that we should learn to tolerate in a free and open society?

Imagine that you are on a large boat, hoping to get to the other side of a lake, when one man insists that he has a “right” to drill a hole through the bottom of his side of the boat. When you object, he argues for tolerance and reminds you that you can just stay on your side with your friends; what he does on his side has no bearing on what you do on your side. But as the water begins to seep into the boat, you are suddenly aware that, like it or not, what one person does on his side of the boat affects everyone in the boat.

We cannot be content to rest secure in our evangelical enclaves. Some very smart homosexual activists have spent the last several decades energetically and methodically remaking American attitudes toward what was formerly broadly considered a deviant behavior. These activists have seized the agenda and control the national conversation, putting those who care about marriage and family — and how it has been understood for centuries — on the defensive.

We need, therefore, to understand and respond. The church cannot be silent.

____________

Now, if you are listening today, and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, allow me to show you how.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now this is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Until next time, my friend, may God bless you and keep you!
