Coffee Is Actually This Good For You


If a cup of joe is your favorite way to start the morning, we have some great news for you. CNN reported this morning that coffee has a ton of health benefits, including protection from type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, liver disease, prostate cancer, Alzheimer’s, desk back pain and more. 

We think this calls for a celebratory toast of java!

Before you go overboard, know that coffee might not be the best for everyone. There are factors of health, family history and even the kind of coffee you’re making.

A study conduct on 25,000 people in South Korea showed that daily consumption of coffee in moderation (about three to five cups a day) helped reduced the risk of heart disease.

How? Coffee is associated with a decreased risk for coronary artery calcium or CAC. CAC can often be an early predicator of heart disease.

And that’s not all. Coffee can also reduce your risk of melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. But don’t go reaching for decaf, as only fully caffeinated coffee has the benefits.

Even more good news: Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease researchers have found high caffeine content in the bloodstream can slow the progression of dimension. New research shows that coffee could be a neuroprotective that slows down the production of inflammatory markers in the brain. If you do drink decaf, other compounds in coffee (other than caffeine) may help as well.
