Senate to Vote on Loretta Lynch’s Confirmation Next Week

Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch will receive a Senate confirmation vote next week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday.

The announcement came amid mounting demands for a vote from Democrats, who say Lynch, a Brooklyn U.S. attorney picked by President Obama in November, has waited longer for a confirmation vote than any nominee in three decades.

Democrats have questioned if Lynch’s race is a factor in the delay. Republicans call those claims nonsense.
