According to the latest study from the University of Buffalo, men love themselves more than women do.
The research was conducted to find which gender possesses most narcissistic properties. To find the answer, researchers compiled the data of psychological and personality tests that were from the 31 years research on narcissism showing that men love themselves more than their counterparts.
The data were collected from around 355 surveys, journal articles, dissertations and manuscripts.
The researchers of this study divided the found information into three different types of narcissism; extreme self-interest, grandiosity and exhibitionism and entitlement.
The highest gender gap was present in the entitlement type showing that men have few doubts about utilizing others and helping themselves to have the benefits of male privilege.
Lead author of this study, Emily Grijalva, of Buffalo’s School of Management, said in a press release, “Narcissism is associated with various interpersonal dysfunctions, including an inability to maintain healthy long-term relationships, unethical behavior and aggression.”
Grijalva added that at the same time narcissism helps to increase self-esteem, emotional stability and the tendency to be a leader.
