R&B singer Charmayne Maxwell from the ’90s group Brownstone died Saturday evening at the age of 46. Maxwell’s mother-in-law, whose son is music producer Carsten “Soulshock” Schack, told the newspaper that Maxwell died from a fall.
Maxwell’s brother tweeted about the news of his sister’s death late Saturday night.
Brownstone rose to fame after Michael Jackson discovered the group. Their hits included “If You Love Me” and “Grapevyne.” Maxwell and Schack were together for over 20 years and met when he was hired to produce the group’s album. The couple has a 10-year-old son.
