Two Parking Attendants Working at First Emanuel Baptist Church in New Orleans Robbed at Gunpoint

Two parking attendants working for a church near the Lower Garden District and  St. Charles Avenue Uptown parade route were robbed at gunpoint Friday night (Feb. 13), New Orleans police reported.

The attendants, ages 75 and 56, were collecting money and watching over parked cars for First Emanuel Baptist Church at 1829 Carondelet St. They told police two suspects approached, one armed with a gun, and robbed them of money meant for the church before fleeing. The robbery was reported at 9:13 p.m., while the Krewe of Morpheus parade was passing about a block away.
