A former Los Angeles Angels draft pick was shot in killed recently in suburban Atlanta, Ga., following a dispute over candy that began with a group of children and escalated to adults at an apartment complex, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Stacie Williams, 25, who was already in Fulton County, Ga., jail on unrelated charges linked to a domestic dispute, is accused of shooting Ryan Bolden, 23, of Madison, Miss. He was served with an arrest warrant Thursday and is being held without bond, the report says.
The shooting took place on Dec. 17, 2014 at an apartment complex in College Park, Ga., when the son of a friend of Bolden’s told his father that another boy had punched him in the face over an unidentified piece of candy, the news outlet writes. That’s when Bolden, along with the child’s father, returned to the scene in an effort to piece together what happened. Violence reportedly erupted among the adults when an unnamed assailant, according to the report, punched the child’s father. Bolden and the father reportedly left the scene.
