Melissa Rivers was one of the first celebs on the Grammy red carpet.
And now we know why.
Her mother, Joan Rivers, was an early Grammy winner!
She won the trophy for best spoken word album for her book, Diary of a Mad Diva.
Rivers’ book, which came out in July, skewers no less than 135 celebrities.
“Just jokes, silly jokes,” she told USA TODAY at the time.
Rivers died Sept. 4 in New York City.
In her category, Rivers went up against James Franco, Jimmy Carter, John Waters, Elizabeth Warren and Gloria Gaynor.
Kathy Griffin, who took Rivers’ spot on E!’s Fashion Police show, was among those who jumped to congratulate the star, who died in September.
