Bobby Brown has spoken out about Bobbi Kristina Brown’s hospitalization, a day after his daughter was found unresponsive in a bathtub.
“Privacy is requested in this matter,” he said in a statement. “Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
The 21-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown has been in a medically induced coma since late Saturday, according to Atlanta Gannett affiliate 11 Alive.
Representatives for the Houston family have not responded to USA TODAY’s requests for comment.
Brown was taken to the North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga. after her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend found her in the tub Saturday morning.
“(Gordon) started CPR and a police officer took over lifesaving measures until an ambulance arrived. She was transported to the hospital. Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers,” said officer Lisa Holland, a Roswell Police Department spokeswoman. She told reporters that police found no evidence that drugs or alcohol were factors.
11Alive reports that police were called to Brown’s house eight days ago, because there were reports of a fight. However, no one was at the house when police arrived.
