Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #516. My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Those signs include:

1. the appearance of false Christs and false prophets
2. wars and rumors of wars
3. famines
4. pestilences (fatal epidemic diseases)
5. earthquakes in divers (various) places
6. increased persecution of believers
7. the Gospel being preached in all the world
8. signs and great wonders in the heavens (involving the sun, moon, stars, and planetary movements)
9. distress and perplexity among people
10. increased violence “as in the days of Noah”
11. increased homosexuality and sexual immorality “as it was in the days of Lot”
12. the rise of “Gog and Magog” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to Russia)
13. the rise of the “kings of the east” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to China)
14. increase in knowledge (science and technology)
15. apostasy in the church
16. interest in a unified world government to bring about global peace
17. interest in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem

The Bible also speaks of other signs which will be evident in “perilous times” in Second Timothy 3. Those signs are people being:

18. selfish
19. covetous
20. boasters
21. proud
22. blasphemers
23. disobedient to parents
24. unthankful
25. unholy
26. without natural affection
27. trucebreakers
28. false accusers
29. incontinent
30. fierce
31. despisers of those that are good
32. traitors
33. heady
34. high-minded
35. lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
36. having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Other signs of the times which have been gleaned from Scripture include:
37. scoffers who mock of Christ’s return
38. movement toward a one-world religion
39. outpouring of the Holy Spirit
40. outbreak of demonic and occultic activity
41. re-establishment of Israel
42. Arab hostility toward Israel
43. re-unification of Europe
44. movement toward a one-world economy

Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to The Express Tribune, the leader of a Pakistani politico-religious party is claiming that the West’s “extremist standpoint” on the freedom of news organizations to publish “blasphemous caricatures” of Islam’s prophet Muhammad will ultimately lead to World War III. In an address to thousands at a protest over the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which publicized cartoons portraying Muhammad, the influential leader demanded that the United Nations make laws designed to prevent the media and others from mocking religious personalities. He said that the West’s leniency and tolerance in dealing with those who mock Islam by publishing Muhammad’s image could lead to yet another Great War.

Second, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to The Algemeiner, Israel has warned the Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah not to approach the border or attack its interests abroad, in a message conveyed via Moscow. The message, delivered through Russian intermediaries, stated that “Israel is not interested in the deterioration of security and escalation on the northern border, but will not allow the presence of terrorists near the border.” Israel’s Defense Minister said during a recent visit to the area that, “we will respond strongly to any attempt to harm us.”

Third, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Times of Israel, a senior Israeli diplomatic official said on Monday that a crisis in the current nuclear negotiations between six world powers and Iran, generated by new sanctions, could lead to their breakdown and ultimately to a renewed round of negotiations with better results. He added that the talks would likely not yield an agreement by their March 31 deadline, and that without new sanctions they would likely not yield a deal at all. He said new sanctions and an ensuing “crisis in talks can certainly sharpen dilemmas for Iran and can lead to the achievement of an agreement on better terms. The combination of political pressure and economic levers increases the chances of better results in the negotiations.”

Fourth, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to USA Today, NATO’s chief said that a weekend rocket attack in the Ukrainian city of Ma-ri-u-pol came from areas controlled by separatists who are receiving more equipment from Russia. Secretary General Jens Stol-ten-berg said, “We condemn the sharp escalation of violence along the cease-fire line in eastern Ukraine by Russia-backed separatists. This comes at great human cost to civilians.” Stol-ten-berg spoke after Russian President Vladimir Putin accused NATO of pursuing its own interests in Ukraine and using civilians as “cannon fodder.”

Fifth, today, under the Sign category of SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS — According to SPACE.com, a mountain-size asteroid buzzed Earth on Monday morning in a close encounter that’s already revealing new information about the space rock. Asteroid 2004 BL86 came within 745,000 miles of Earth — or about three times the distance from our planet to the moon. The space rock is now zooming off into the depths of space at 35,000 mph.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:26-28: “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “Judgment Begins at the House of God” (Part 2) from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

WHAT DO THE SEVEN CHURCHES REPRESENT?

A basic reading of these letters reveals that they are simply seven local churches that all existed at the same time and in the same general area. Each had its own unique characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. At best, we can suggest only that they represent seven different types of churches.

The message to each church follows the same sevenfold pattern:

1. Commission: “To the angel of the church in…”
2. Character: “The One who…says this…”
3. Commendation: “I know your deeds…”
4. Condemnation: “But I have this against you…”
5. Correction: “Repent, turn, change…”
6. Call: “He who has an ear, let him hear…”
7. Challenge: “To him who overcomes…”

There are exceptions to this pattern. For example, there are no words of commendation for Sardis or Laodicea, and no words of condemnation for Smyrna or Philadelphia. Certainly, the latter two are upheld as ideals for the others. Notice also that all seven churches still had a lampstand, including Laodicea. Of the Laodicean church, the Lord also said, “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline.” Here we see the Lord of the Church appealing to His churches in love and concern. The appeal of these letters is personal to each local church. At the same time, the principles dealt with are universal in nature.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic on our next broadcast/podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and me to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our Bible study series on the books of First & Second Thessalonians which Paul wrote to believers who had concerns about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and what they should do as they waited. This section is titled “Living Like a Christian (Part 5)” from the book “Waiting on the Second Coming” by Ray C. Stedman.

In addressing the issue of our behavior toward others in the body of Christ, the ever-practical Paul speaks clearly and plainly, pointing out three distinct types of people: the idle, the timid, and the weak.

What did Paul say to the idlers?

“Warn those who are idle,” he says. The word means literally “the disorderly,” those out of step with the rest of the crowd. In Thessalonica, it meant those who had quit working because they expected the Lord to come at any moment. These people were living off the gifts of others and were not willing to work and support themselves.

“Warn them,” says the apostle. Tell them to mend their ways. Do not let them go on like that. Point out to them that this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

If the Lord tarries His coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
